1945-2005
My Mom passed away November 8, 2005 after a sudden illness. Her last week was spent in her home where she was surrounded by the love and care of family and could hear the laughter of her granddaughters.
Do not mourn for me,
For I have transcended mortal existence.
Be happy and celebrate this joyous occasion.

She always disliked having her picture taken (strange that she'd raise a photojournalist...) but I don't think she'd object to my sharing this photo of her. I had never seen the photo before I came across it in a photo album, but I know it was a very happy time in her life.
